Preparing all 16 stages…

Illustrative human anatomy · Days after fertilization, then pregnancy weeks · Display scales adjusted

Sources & approach

Human development, illustrated.

Sixteen representative stages, from fertilization to pregnancy week 40. The first four stages use days after fertilization. Later stages use pregnancy weeks, counted from the last menstrual period, approximately two weeks earlier. Week 4 and Week 5 represent 4 weeks 3 days and 5 weeks 3 days, respectively. Carnegie stages describe embryonic morphology and do not extend through the fetal period.

Original schematic geometry based on published descriptions. These are not scans, tracked cells, clinical models, or predictions from a developmental model. Anatomy, poses, colors, exploded spacing, surface folds, and transitions are illustrative. The cord and placenta have simplified shapes and illustrative placement. Some organs and microscopic structures are omitted. No specialist anatomical validation has been performed.

Each view is framed independently. Reference lengths are broad educational approximations, not measurements of these meshes. In All parts, structures are enlarged independently to aid inspection; their displayed sizes are not anatomical ratios. Crown–rump and crown–heel measurements are distinguished.
